National Open University Nigeria (NOUN) students to reach 500,000.

The national open university university as at today is the largest university in Nigeria owing to its open and distance learning educational system,ODL.
The school barely 10 years old has recorded great milestone in their quest in liberalizing and expanding the scope of mass education in Nigeria.
As the presently, the NOUN has over 65,000 students across the federation, with lagos study centres (Apapa and Agidingbi) accounting for about 20 percent of the total student population.
Agidingbi study centre alone contributes about 8,000 of the lagos student population of about 15,000 students.
The new Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof Vincent Tenebe, told the presidential Visiting panel that he intends to increase the school's student base from its current 65,000 to 500,000 before his tenure runs out in 2018.
Wow!...to some educational experts, they feel its an utopian task for the warrior scholar.
So, with this bold move by the VC, the question on the lips of every student is how does he intends using the little budget of the school in achieving this feat?

NOUN ICT 2012

national open university of Nigeria ict 2012:
The 2012 ICT program scheduled to take place on the 26th of January has been postponed till Feb 9th 2012.
The reasons for this postponement is unconnected with the ongoing nationwide strike anchored by the NLC/TUC and civil liberties coalition occasioned by the current fuel subsidy removal regime of the president Goodluck ebele Jonathan, GEJ.
Its also the interest of this year's event organisers to ensure that there is a larger turnout of participants/students for this oneday event, so was also part of the indications for this postponement.
